MTN Foundation Scholarship Scheme: The annual 2023 MTN Foundation Scholarship Scheme for Nigerian Undergraduates has commenced its application. This is one of the best undergraduate scholarships for Nigerian undergraduates.

The MTN Foundation scholarship provides financial support to bright students who might not otherwise be able to pay for their tertiary education and also aims to recognize and reward academic excellence.

The MTNF Scholarship is a scholarship that prepares students for bigger opportunities after graduation. As an MTN Scholarship awardee, you are not just receiving the huge annual stipends, but you are also enrolled in online courses with big companies like CISCO, Coursera, and Google for free.

The scholarship is renewed every year until the students graduate from tertiary institutions provided, they are able to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.5 or its equivalent throughout their period of study. New applications are welcome from students in full-time studies in their second year of study.

Eligibility Requirements for the 2023 MTN Foundation Scholarship Scheme

Kindly note the MTN foundation scholarship scheme is divided into 3 categories:

  • The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS)
  • The MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS)
  • The MTN Top 10 UTME Scholarship.

Eligibility for the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS)

To be considered for the 2023 MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS), applicants are to meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be from public Universities, Polytechnics, and colleges of Education in Nigeria in their second year (200 level).
  • Applicants in their second year of study must possess a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 or its equivalent (2:1).
  • Direct entry-level students must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from their respective OND program and must have been admitted into the second year in a public university.

NOTE: 300L Students for 5 years degree program can apply.

Eligibility for The MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS)

To be considered for The 2023 MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS), applicants are to meet the following criteria:

  • For blind students pursuing Law, which is a 5-year course, the scholarship is only available to those who have reached the 300 level.

Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) Requirements for Blind Students in Educational Institutions:

Universities or Colleges of Education:

  • Blind students must maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5.This requirement applies to blind students enrolled in any academic program within the university or college.

Public Polytechnics:

  • Blind students must fulfill specific CGPA criteria based on their academic progression.
    For the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program, blind students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.0.
  • Additionally, blind students must secure admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
  • Once admitted to the HND Program, blind students must continue to meet the minimum CGPA requirement of 2.0.

Required Documents for the 2023 MTN Foundation Scholarship Scheme 

Applicants who are qualified will be shortlisted for an assessment test. They will be required to come with two recent passport photographs and original and photocopy of the documents listed below:

  • Admission letter from JAMB and Institution of study
  • Valid Student Identity Card
  • Any other means of identification (National ID card, International Passport or Driver’s license
  • Admission letter for the HND programme (Polytechnic students only)
