Recall social media was set abuzz on Friday night after pictures and videos of the Labour Party(LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi attending the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) annual August convention in Lagos were posted online.
According to the video, there were cheers from the congregation immediately after the announcer announces the presence of the LP presidential candidate in their midst.
However, few minutes ago, Obi took to his verified Twitter page to appreciate the warm reception he received last night at the RCCG Camp. Obi said it was a "special experience of joy" for him as he shared the moments of true worship at the RCCG convention last night. He expressed his humility and gratitude for being given such an opportunity to worship in their midst.
In recent times, and amidst growing social media reactions, Obi has been seen visiting and worshipping at some popular churches. This might not be unconnected to the fallout of the controversy surrounding the ruling party's Muslim-Muslim ticket ever since the conclusion of picking of running mate by each presidential candidate.
